LESSON FACILITATION FLOW
1. Modeling (10 mins)
Write dog the is big on the board. Model sorting. Point out capitalization and end-punctuation clues to the children.
2. Guided Practice (10 mins)
Distribute physical word-cards to students and have them move dynamically around the floor to construct simple sentences as a team.
3. Tiered Assignment (20 mins)
Distribute packets based on diagnostic levels. These packets are 2 pages. For Level 3, remind children that commas are placed right before conjunctions.
4. Dynamic Extension
Students who finish early should flip over page 2 and write an original 5-word scrambled sentence for their peer to unscramble.
