Story: The Sweet Saturday Surprise
Read the story 2 times
On Saturday morning, Leo and his big sister Maya walked to the neighborhood farmers market. The air was cool and smelled of sweet flowers and warm cinnamon bread. Leo heard a friendly musician strumming a cheerful song on his wooden guitar.
The two children had one special mission: find fresh fruit to surprise Grandma for lunch. As they walked down the bustling path, Leo spotted colorful tents packed with crisp green apples, orange carrots, and tiny blueberries. Then, he saw Farmer Dan's bright red stand.
Wooden baskets were filled with ruby-red strawberries that glistened in the morning sunshine. Farmer Dan smiled and handed Leo a sample berry. It was juicy and sweet! Maya cheered, and they proudly carried their full basket home.
