Sparky was the loyal mascot 🐕 at Firehouse 10. He was a small dog with big spots and an even bigger heart. Sparky loved the smell of the shiny fire trucks. Every time the loud alarm 🔔 rang, his ears would perk up. He wanted to help the firefighters more than anything.
One sunny afternoon, a small blaze 🔥 started in a trash can at the city park. The wind was blowing, and the fire was getting bigger. The big fire truck was stuck in traffic three blocks away. It was a true emergency 🚨!
Sparky didn't wait for the truck. He zoomed across the grass like a lightning bolt. When he reached the trash can, the flames were licking the air. Sparky looked around. He didn't have a long yellow hose. He didn't have a heavy silver ladder.
Sparky knew he had to act fast. He took a deep breath, marched up to the smoking trash can, and lifted his back leg. Pishhhhhh! A steady stream of yellow water hit the hot coals.
The fire went out with a loud hiss and a puff of gray smoke. When the firefighters finally arrived, they found Sparky wagging his tail. The park was safe. The captain patted Sparky on the head. "Good boy," he said. Sparky was a real hero 🎖️!
