Ben and the Little Tower
Character: Ben
Mia sat on the rug. Her tall block tower fell down with a loud crash. Tears ran down Mia’s cheeks. Ben stopped playing with his toy car. He walked over and sat next to Mia. Ben smiled warmly. "I can help you," Ben said softly. He handed Mia the big red blocks first. Then he held the blue blocks steady so they would not wobble. Together, they made the tower tall again.

Daisy and the Jump Rope Show
Character: Daisy
Daisy wanted to learn the criss-cross jump for the school showcase. Each time she swung the green rope, it snapped against her sneakers, sending her stumbling onto the dusty blacktop. Her friend Liam called out from the swings, "It’s too hot anyway, Daisy! Let's go play four square." Daisy rubbed her scraped elbow and dusted off her jeans. She didn't drop her rope. "Not yet," Daisy answered, setting her sneakers back on the white line. "I just need to time my swing." She gripped the plastic handles, inhaled deeply, and tried three more times until the rope whizzed cleanly under her shoes.

Elena and the Dropped Dollar
Character: Elena
At the crowded school book fair, Elena spotted a crisp five-dollar bill resting beneath the mystery table. Her pulse raced. She had saved for three weeks to purchase The Dragon’s Secret, but she was still two dollars short. Slipping the bill into her palm, Elena glanced around. The cashier was busy scanning paperbacks, and nobody was looking her way. Just then, she noticed younger Toby on his knees near the entrance, frantically patting his empty pockets with trembling hands. Elena stared at the folded bill. She remembered how crushed she felt when she lost her lunch money last autumn. Without hesitating another second, Elena walked over, knelt down, and held out the money. "Did you drop this by the racks, Toby?" she asked gently.

Card #04
Julian and the Jammed Gears
Character: Julian
Forty-eight hours before the district STEM showcase, the solar windmill prototype ground to a shuddering halt. The motor emitted a sharp whine before freezing solid. "It’s completely hopeless," sighed Maya, throwing her hands up and kicking back her chair. "The entire presentation is ruined." Julian did not join in the panic. He adjusted his magnifying goggles and reached for his engineering notebook. Instead of yanking at the tangled wires, he systematically loosened each miniature brass bolt, cataloging them by size on a magnetic mat. He scrutinized the cog teeth under his desk lamp, looking for microscopic burrs. "Every puzzle leaves breadcrumbs," Julian muttered calmly, sketching the gear ratio angles to calculate where the friction started. When others packed up, Julian methodically realigned the spindle.

Impulsive
