Part 1: The Dream
Odysseus is on the island of Scheria. He is very tired and dirty. He sleeps under a tree.
The goddess Athena has a plan. She goes to the palace. She visits Princess Nausicaa in a dream. Athena says, "Nausicaa, you must wash your clothes. You are getting married soon!"
Part 2: At the River
In the morning, Nausicaa goes to the river. She takes her maids and a wagon full of clothes.
They wash the clothes. Then, they play a game with a ball. They laugh and shout. The noise wakes up Odysseus. He has no clothes. He hides behind a bush.

Nausicaa tells him: "Follow me to the city. But do not walk with me. People will talk. Go to the palace and find my mother, the Queen. She will help you go home."
Summary
Odysseus meets a princess. She is not afraid. She gives him food, clothes, and a way to get home. Athena's plan is working!
