Charlotte Splashy Secret Story Charlotte's Splashy Secret
A Beach Adventure
Name:
Date:
The sun was high and the sand was warm. Charlotte stood at the edge of the big, blue ocean. She loved the beach more than anything in the world. Today felt different, though. There was a bright shimmer on the water that she had never seen before.
With a giant splash , Charlotte jumped into a big wave. The cool water felt like a soft hug. She dove down deep, expecting to see sand and sea grass. Instead, she felt a funny tingle in her legs. She looked down and gasped.
Her legs were gone! In their place was a long, beautiful tail covered in shiny green scales . They sparkled like jewels under the water. Charlotte gave her tail a little flutter , and she zoomed forward like a rocket!
She was a mermaid! Charlotte swam in loops and did tiny flips. She felt faster and stronger than ever. This was the greatest adventure of her life. She wanted to shout for joy, but she knew she had to be careful.
Can you imagine Charlotte's tail?
Charlotte swam back to the shore where the water was shallow. As soon as her tail touched the dry sand, it turned back into her regular legs. She stood up and looked around. No one had seen!
"This will be my best secret ," she whispered with a huge smile. Her heart was beating fast with excitement. She couldn't wait to go back into the waves tomorrow.
