1. The Fog & Step 0: The Reset (5 mins)
Quick Discussion & Activity:
"When you're in the fog, your brain is too loud to think. We need Step 0: The Reset before we can even ask for help."
Teach 3 rapid resets:
3 Belly Breaths: Slow breaths, feel the belly move.
5 Finger Breathing: Trace hand, in on the up, out on the down.
Pull Your Chair: Grab seat sides and pull up while sitting.
2. Mini-Lesson (5 mins)
Quickly flip through slides to link Reset & Help Signals:
1. FOG: Detect it. 2. RESET: Calm it. 3. SIGNAL: Resolve it.
3. Signal Showdown Game (10 mins)
Add a "Reset Round": Before answering, students must do 1 Belly Breath.
Scenario 1: You're so annoyed you want to rip your paper. (Call: RESET!)
Scenario 2: You re-read Step 1 but still don't get it. (Call: ASK A BUDDY)
Scenario 3: You're staring at the wall and your hands are tight. (Call: RESET, then SIGNAL)
4. Wrap-Up (5 mins)
Students circle their favorite Reset Strategy on the worksheet as they finish.
