Screen vs Green Slides Screen vs. Green Time
Building a Balanced Digital Life
Digital Citizen Architects: Lesson 1
The Battery Drain
Just like a tablet or phone, our bodies and brains need to recharge.
What drains our battery?
Too much gaming
Constant scrolling
Bright screens at night
Too Much Screen Time?
Tired Eyes
Screens can make our eyes feel dry and tired.
Poor Sleep
The blue light tells our brain to stay awake.
Mood Swings
Sometimes we feel grumpy when we have to stop.
What is Green Time?
Physical Green Time
• Playing outside or at a park
• Riding a bike or scooter
• Playing sports or dancing
Social Green Time
• Playing board games with family
• Talking face-to-face with friends
• Helping with chores or cooking
Green Time recharges our "Human Battery"!
Architect Challenge #1
Your task is to create a Balanced Daily Schedule.
Can you fit in enough sleep, exercise, and play while still having a little bit of tech time?

Scrolling through videos
Part 2: The Daily Blueprint

Respecting Creators & Their Work
Digital Citizen Architects: Lesson 2
Who Made It?
When you find a cool picture, story, or video online, someone created it.
Photographers
Musicians
Artists
Coders
How to Give Credit
1. Ask Permission
If you can, ask the creator if you can use their work.
2. Name the Source
Tell people where you found it and who made it.
3. Change it? Ask first!
Don't change someone else's work without asking.
"This awesome photo was taken by Sarah Smith from The Photo Website."
The Special Shield
This symbol means "Hands Off!" unless you have permission. It protects what people create!
Architect Challenge #2
You are now part of the Credit Crew.
Can you help these creators get the credit they deserve on your worksheet?

Part 1: Spot the Creator
Look at these examples of work. Circle the correct way to give credit as a member of the Credit Crew.
A cool photo of a robot by "Leo L."
How should you credit Leo?
"I found this on the internet."
A song called "Sunny Day" by "The Beats Group"
How should you credit the musicians?
"Song by The Beats Group"
"My favorite song."
Part 2: Protect Your Work
Draw a simple picture of your favorite animal in the box. Then, add a Copyright Shield and your name to show you are the creator!

The "Drawing Swap" Hook
Give students 5 minutes to draw a simple masterpiece (a pet, a superhero, a favorite place).
Walk around and praise their hard work.
Pick up a few drawings and say, "These are so good, I'm going to put them on my desk and tell everyone I drew them! Thanks for the help."
Wait for the reaction. Students will likely protest!
Transition: "How does it feel when you work hard on something and someone else takes it without asking or giving you credit? This happens online every day."
Discussion Guide
Q: Why do we care about who made something?
A: It's about respect. Creators spend time, energy, and money to make their work. If we don't give credit, we are "stealing" their hard work.
Q: Does everything online belong to everyone?
A: No. Just because you can see it doesn't mean you own it. Most things are protected by copyright laws.

Guided Practice: Work through Part 1 together to identify clear attribution.
