Quantity Quest

A foundational Pre-K math sequence focusing on one-to-one correspondence and visual comparison of quantities. Students explore concepts of more, less, and fewer through physical pairing, tower building, voting, and balancing scales.

Matching Mates

Students learn one-to-one correspondence by physically pairing related objects like locks and keys. They identify when there are leftovers to understand that groups may have different amounts.

Tower Builders

Children build towers using connecting cubes based on number cards. By placing towers side-by-side, they visually compare height as a proxy for quantity.

Voting Game

The class creates a living bar graph by voting on preferences. They analyze the results to determine which category has more and which has fewer sticky notes.

Musical Math

A kinesthetic game of musical chairs illustrates the concept of 'fewer'. Students experience having fewer chairs than people, reinforcing the idea of a remainder.

Scale Scientists

Students use balance scales to explore how weight and quantity interact. They predict and observe which side is 'more' (heavier) and which is 'less' (lighter).
