Strategy 1: Drawing from Side Clues
Step-by-Step Blueprint

Lock in the Base First
Start on a straight grid line. Count your grid units horizontally from left to right.

Check Side Relationships
Are opposite sides equal? (Rectangle/Parallelogram) Or are all 4 equal? (Rhombus/Square)

Count Rise & Run for Slants
For slanted sides, count across and up by the exact same amount on both sides to keep lines parallel!
Worked Example Sides: 6 and 4
Base = 6 units Top = 6 units Slant = 4 Slant = 4
Pro-Tip: If the bottom side goes 6 boxes right, the top side MUST also go 6 boxes right!

Strategy 2: Drawing from Angle Clues
Angle Anatomy
Right Angle
\(90^\circ\)
Square corner. Follows the horizontal and vertical grid lines perfectly.
Found in: Rectangles, Squares
Acute Angle
< \(90^\circ\)
Sharp corner. Pinches inward. Common in rhombuses and parallelograms.
\(60^\circ\)
Acute means "sharp"
Obtuse Angle
> \(90^\circ\)
Wide open corner. Leans outward. Balances with an acute neighbor.
\(120^\circ\)
Obtuse means "wide"
The Consecutive Angle Rule: Neighboring angles between parallel lines add to \(180^\circ\) !
\(60^\circ + 120^\circ = 180^\circ\)
