Target Audience & Setup
Designed specifically for intensive 2-student instruction (Student A & Student B). This program relies on heavy physical tactile cues: playdough, tracing sand, high-contrast touch-points (green starting dots, orange touch-dots), and systematic backward/forward vocal rhythm.

Session 1: The Number Zoo (0 to 5)
Target Skill
Recognize & match quantities 0–5. Touch-point counting 1–5. Count forward to 10.
Material Prep
Playdough (red/blue), 0-5 Zoo Playdough Mats, Lesson 1 Slides, green & orange markers.
Step-by-Step Script
[1] Slide Warm-Up (5 min): Open Session 1 Slides. Lead students in choral counting: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!" Ask Student A to tap the screen for "3", Student B to tap for "5". Repeat.
[2] Playdough Tracing (12 min): Give students the Playdough Mats. "Roll your playdough into a long snake. Now press it onto the giant number 3. Start at the GREEN dot . Go around and around! Now, look at the animals. Let's make 3 tiny playdough balls and squash them onto each animal. Count as you squash! 1... 2... 3!"
[3] High-Contrast Touch-Points (5 min): Demonstrate on the mat how to touch the high-contrast points. "Look at number 3. It has 3 orange dots. Let's press our index finger on each orange dot and count: One, Two, Three! Fantastic."
[4] Exit Ticket Practice (8 min): Hand out the Zoo Count Exit Ticket. Assist students with high-contrast dot placement if they struggle. Record accuracy on Page 5.
Multisensory Pivot (If student struggles)
If a student cannot match the quantity, physicalize it. Have them stand up and take 3 giant elephant stomps while chanting "1, 2, 3!". Then return to the playdough mat to squash the balls.

Session 2: Sky-High Numbers (6 to 10)
Target Skill
Recognize & match quantities 6–10. Touch-point tracking for double-digit numbers. Count forward to 15.
Material Prep
Tactile Sand/Salt trays, Session 2 Slides, Sky-High Tracing Cards, green & orange visual markers.
Step-by-Step Script
[1] Warm-Up Counting (5 min): Project Session 2 Slides. Practice forward counting to 15. Have students perform a "reach for the sky" stretch on each number. "1, 2, 3 (reach), 4, 5 (reach)... up to 15!"
[2] Tactile Tracing (12 min): Give students the Sky-High Tracing Cards and a shallow tray of sand or salt. "We are going sky-high! Take your pointer finger. Place it on the GREEN starting dot of the giant 8 card. Trace down, around, and back up. Feel that texture! Now, shake your sand tray and write an 8 in the sand with your finger. Make it big!"
[3] Double-Tap High-Contrast Cues (5 min): Introduce double touch-points on numbers 6–10. Numbers like 8 and 9 have visual rings or dots. "Look at 8. It has 8 orange touch dots. Let's tap them together: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight! Tap twice for the double rings."
[4] Exit Ticket (8 min): Hand out the Sky Match Exit Ticket. Instruct students to trace with pencil and circle the corresponding set of objects.
Multisensory Pivot (If student struggles)
If a student is struggling to write 8, have them paint it in the air with giant arm swings first. Choral chant: "Make an S, but do not wait, climb back up to make an eight!" Then trace again on the card.

Session 3: Ocean Deep (11 to 15 & Countdown)
Target Skill
Count forward to 15. Count backward from 10 to 0. Master ten-frame filling and subtraction.
Material Prep
Session 3 Slides, Ocean Ten-Frame mats, blue plastic gems or coins (15 per student).
Step-by-Step Script
[1] Deep Sea Warm-Up (5 min): Open Session 3 Slides. Practice forward counting up to 15. Then, stand up and practice the "Submarine Dive" countdown from 10 to 0: "10, 9, 8... 0! Splash!" squatting lower on each number.
[2] Ten-Frame Pearls (12 min): Hand out the Ocean Ten-Frame mats and blue gems (pearls). "We are collecting ocean pearls! Look at your first mat. It says 12. Let's place blue pearls onto our double ten-frame. Put them in order, top row first: 1, 2, 3... 10. Now we need more! 11, 12! How many are left over? Two! Excellent."
[3] Physical Countdown (5 min): Slide one pearl off at a time to model countdown from 10. "We have 10 pearls. Let's take them off one-by-one and count backwards: 10 (take off), 9 (take off), 8... 0! Now we have empty frames!"
[4] Exit Ticket (8 min): Complete the Submarine Blastoff Exit Ticket. Students count the items and write the corresponding double digits with starting guide points.
Multisensory Pivot (If student struggles)
If backward counting is hard, use the "Drop the Gem" method. Drop physically loud metal washers or blocks into a tin bucket as they count backwards from 10. The audio feedback reinforces the subtraction.

Session 4: Cosmic Launch (16 to 20 & Countdown)
Target Skill
Count forward to 20. Count backward from 20 to 0. Master number identification 0-10 under speed.
Material Prep
Session 4 Slides, Cosmic Countdown game board, small spaceship markers, 20 counters.
Step-by-Step Script
[1] Rocket Warm-Up (5 min): Open Session 4 Slides. Clap and count forward to 20. Then, prepare for the ultimate "Rocket Blastoff" countdown: "20, 19, 18, 17... 3, 2, 1, 0! BLASTOFF!" Jump up as high as possible on 0.
[2] Cosmic Countdown Game (12 min): Give students the Cosmic board game. "Place your spaceship marker at star 20. We need to navigate back to Earth (0). Roll the dice or pull a card, move backward, and call out the numbers loud! If you land on a meteorite, identify the high-contrast touch points on numbers 0–10 to escape!"
[3] Space Walks (5 min): Combine forward and backward motion. "Now move forward 3 steps: 12, 13, 14. Oh no! Space debris! Jump backward 2 steps: 13, 12. Great job staying on track!"
[4] Exit Ticket (8 min): Hand out the Space Cadet Exit Ticket. Assess counting to 20, backward from 10, and number matching. Fill out final tracking matrices.
Multisensory Pivot (If student struggles)
If counting from 20 is too overwhelming, segment it. Have the student count backward from 15 to 10 first. Re-establish success there before attempting the full 20 to 0 drop.

Multi-Sensory Tactile Learning for Numbers 1 to 5
How to Use These Mats:
Laminate or Sleeve: Place each mat inside a heavy-duty plastic sleeve or laminate for reuse.
Roll the Dough: Have students roll playdough into long "snakes" and use them to construct the giant number.
Trace the Path: Guide fingers to trace the playdough path, starting strictly at the Green Dot.
Squash and Count: Model rolling tiny playdough balls and squashing them onto each animal and inside the ten-frame blocks.
Tap Touch-Points: Push fingers down onto the Orange Dots while vocalizing each count.
