5
Warm-up: Memory Match
Recall the shapes from the video intro. Ask students:
"Was the square normal? No, it was furry! Was the rectangle normal? No, it had spots!"
5
Viewing: Texture Hunt
Rewatch the segment from 1:15 to 2:00.
Encourage students to "feel" the textures in the air (e.g., mime petting a furry square or poking spots on a rectangle).
25
Main Activity: Silly Shape Monsters
1. Choose a Shape: Students pick one geometric shape (Triangle, Square, Circle, Rectangle, or Pentagon).
2. Assign an Attribute: Use the "Silly Attribute" flashcards or brainstorm as a class. SLIMY SCALY SPIKY
3. Monster Transformation: Add eyes, mouths, arms, and legs to make it a character! Use rubbing plates for added texture.
10
Closure: Gallery Walk
Display monsters on desks. Students walk around and try to guess the "silly attribute" of their classmates' monsters.
"I think this one is a SCALY triangle because of the green triangles on its skin!"
