The Base-60 Trap

8h 15m × $16/hr is NOT 8.15 × 16!
Why this fails:
15 minutes is a quarter of an hour (1/4), which is 0.25 decimal hours. Writing "8.15" suggests 15/100 of an hour, resulting in underpaying the worker!
We translate base-60 minutes into standard base-10 decimal fractions.
