Squad Mission Objective
Work together to match 16 complex fractions to their equivalent simplest forms. Every match requires finding the Greatest Common Factor (GCF), showing division steps, and team-wide verification!

How To Play Each Round
1 Setup & Deal
Spread the Cards
Place the Blue Cards (unsimplified) face down in a deck. Spread the Teal Cards (simplest forms) face up across the table grid.
Lead: Navigator
2 Scout & Reduce
Find GCF & Pair
Draw an unsimplified card. Scout finds a candidate target. Solver identifies the GCF and divides numerator & denominator to prove the match.

3 Verify & Log
Inspect & Record
Inspector double-checks with cross-multiplication. When the whole squad agrees, Scribe logs the pair and GCF onto the official Mission Log!

Squad Cooperation Code
• Rotate Every 4 Cards: When 4 pairs are logged, rotate roles clockwise so each player masters every station.
• The "Ask 3 Before Teacher" Rule: If the team is stuck on a fraction, talk with 3 teammates before raising a hand.
• No Solo Work: The Scribe never writes until the Inspector confirms and all 5 teammates give a thumbs-up.
• Equal Voice: Every squad member must explain at least one simplification step during the session.

Role 1: The Navigator (Dealer & Pacing) Controls the Deck
Your Duty: Shuffles and holds the Blue Draw Pile. Flips one card at a time to the center. Keeps track of game time and ensures the team stays focused, energized, and moving forward smoothly.
Key Prompt: "Here is our next fraction to simplify: ___ / ___! Scout, what do you see?"

Role 2: The Match Scout (Target Hunter) Scans the Board
Your Duty: Examines the face-up Teal Cards on the table. Spots potential simplest-form candidates by comparing benchmark sizes (e.g. less than half, equal to half, close to one whole).
Key Prompt: "I think this fraction might simplify down to ___ / ___. Solver, can you test it?"

Role 3: The GCF Solver (Factor Master) Solves the Division
Your Duty: Identifies the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of the numerator and denominator. Explains aloud what number both terms are divided by to reach the simplest form.
Key Prompt: "The GCF is ___. When we divide top and bottom by ___, we get ___ / ___."

Role 4: The Inspector (Quality Verifier) Verifies Accuracy
Your Duty: Verifies the answer! Checks two questions: 1) Is the division mathematically correct? 2) Can the resulting fraction be reduced any further? (Do numerator and denominator share any factor > 1?)
Key Prompt: "Checked! Cross-products match, and no common factors remain. Squad, do we agree?"

Role 5: The Scribe (Mission Recorder) Logs the Work
Your Duty: Writes the verified match, GCF, and equation neatly on the squad's Mission Log. Collects the physical matched pair into the completed bank and announces the team total.
Key Prompt: "Mission logged! That gives our squad ___ total verified pairs!"
