Point to the red and blue boxes on the mat. 2 The "Put" Phase Ask the student to put a specific number of Red Counters in the red box, and a specific number of Blue Counters in the blue box. 3 The "Move" Phase Guide the student to slide all counters from both the red and blue boxes into the large Green Total Box. 4 The "Count" Phase The student counts all the counters now inside the green box to find the total sum. Encourage them to find the matching Numbered Star for the total.
