Lesson Objective
SWBAT decompose two-digit numbers into tens and ones, record each digit on a place value chart, represent the parts in a number bond, and write matching addition equations (e.g., \(20 + 4 = 24\), \(4 + 20 = 24\)).

Switch Counting Sprint: Start at 12 by 1s... switch to counting by 10s (22, 32, 42)... switch back to 1s. Reverse: count down from 30 by 1s to zero in cadence.

• "How many tens? How many ones?" (3 tens, 7 ones → Total: 37).

Connect to Number Bond: Draw bond with 37 in the whole circle, 30 and 7 in the part circles. Emphasize: parts represent the value of each digit!
