Task 1 (Pizza Fractions): Provide a paper circle divided into four quarters, or physical fraction circles.
Script: "Imagine this is a pizza. Can you show me how you eat 2 of the pieces? Take 2 pieces away. What part of the pizza is left? Write down that fraction."
Task 3 (Sticker Sharing Equation): Provide 30 physical counters and 4 cups labeled 'Friend'.
Script: "Here are 30 sticker counters. First, take away 6 stickers that Maya gives her brother. Put them aside. Now, put the rest of the stickers into these 4 cups one by one so they are completely equal. How many stickers are in each cup?"
Task 5 (Area & Perimeter Grid): Provide grid paper and 24 square-inch plastic tiles.
Script: "Use these 24 tiles to build a rectangular shape. It needs to be 6 blocks long and 4 blocks tall. Build it on the table. Now, let's find the area by counting the tiles inside. Now, let's find the perimeter by counting along the outer edges."
