Multiple Bingo
1 How to Play
- The teacher calls out a Multiple rule (e.g., "Multiple of 3!").
- Find a number on your board that fits the rule and cover it.
- If a number already has a chip, add a second chip of a different color!
The Winning Word
When you get 5 in a row, shout:
COMMON!
1 Chip = Multiple
2 Chips = Common Multiple
Debrief & Reflect
"Which numbers on your board had multiple chips on them?"
Challenge
Can you name a common multiple of 4 and 6 that wasn't on your board?
Definition

Lesson Flow
1
Video & Recitation (5 min)
Watch the "Introduction to LCM" video segment (Slide 2). Pause at 3:05 after the lists are generated.
"Everyone, look at the multiples of 2 and 4. As I point, let's recite them together: 2, 4, 6, 8... Now look at the other list. Point to any numbers you see in BOTH lists."
2
Multiple Bingo (25 min)
Distribute Bingo cards and chips. Use the Calling Guide below to call out rules. Encourage students to help each other verify if a number fits the rule.
- Students use Color A for the first rule applied to a number.
- Students use Color B (layered on top) if the number fits a second rule called.
- Key Insight: Numbers with two chips are "Common Multiples" of the two rules called.
3
Closure (5 min)
Identify the numbers that were "Common Multiples" during the game.
Check for Understanding: "If I call 'Multiple of 3' and 'Multiple of 5', which number on your board gets two chips? Why is 15 a common multiple?"
