Master these three constructions to unlock complex geometric art. Each step builds on the fundamental laws of circles.

The Hexagon Flower
Step 1: Draw a central circle. Lock your compass width—it must not change.
Step 2: Place the point on the edge and draw a second circle.
Step 3: Place the point at the intersection and repeat 6 times around the center.

The Symmetrical Face
Step 1: Draw a large circle. Bisect it with a vertical diameter line.
Step 2: Use a smaller radius to draw two eyes centered on a horizontal line.
Step 3: Set the point on the center, and draw a 120° arc at the bottom for a smile.
Engineering Protocol
Steady Point: Use a thick pad of paper underneath your worksheet to prevent the metal point from slipping.
Drafting: Work in light pencil first. Ink only the "final" lines of your object for a clean look.

The Yin-Yang S-Curve
Step 1: Draw a large circle. Bisect it with a vertical diameter line through the center.
