Recommended Duration: 10 Minutes Daily | Calendar, Weather & Choral Counting

Calendar Circle: Build Time Concept
Identify Today, Yesterday & Tomorrow: Point to each calendar cell.
Say: "If yesterday was [Day], today is... [Pause] and tomorrow will be...!"
Count up to Date Number: Count from 1 to today's date with overhead hand-claps.
Say: "Hands up high! Let's count to today's number... 1, 2, 3... [Stop at today]!"

Weather Watch: Daily Data Tracking
Weather Report: Daily "Weather Reporter" looks outside and updates the class graph.
Say: "Weather Reporter, what do you see? Is it sunny, cloudy, or rainy today?"
Analyze the Data: Compare categories on the bar chart.
Say: "Let's count how many sunny days we have. Which category has the most?"

Choral Counting: Cardinality & Patterns
Count by Tens with Midline Movements: Cross arms/reach up for each ten up to 100.
Say: "Reach high for the tens! Ready? 10... 20... 30... 40... 50... 60... 70... 80... 90... 100!"
Day-of-School Walk: Count by ones up to the current day of school, highlighting 10s transitions.
Say: "We reached 29... what comes next? Let's take a giant step together... 30!"
What to Look/Listen For:
Are students counting in sequence without skipping numbers like 13/14 or 19/20?
Are they matching their physical gestures/claps with the spoken number?
Can they independently identify "today" on the week layout?
Differentiation & Support:
Scaffolding: Keep the 100-chart visual indicator visible during counting steps.
Extension: Challenge students to count backward from 10, or start counting from a number other than 1.
