Special Tradition
What is Red Ribbon Week?
Part 1
Love Your Body
We only get one wonderful body! Red ribbons remind us to take care of it every single day.
Say YES to Safety
We promise to put only safe, healthy, good things into our bodies and minds.
We Stand Together
All across our school and country, boys and girls wear red to celebrate being drug-free!
Counselor Question: Raise your hand if you are wearing red today! Why does wearing red make us feel like a team?
Daily Habits
4 Superpowers for Our Body
Healthy Choices
1. Colorful Fuel
Crunchy veggies, sweet fruits, and nourishing meals give us brain energy!
2. Pure Fresh Water
Drinking plenty of cool water keeps our muscles hydrated and our smiles bright.
3. Move & Play
Running, dancing, and recess build strong bones, hearts, and happy feelings!
4. Rest & Sleep
10 to 11 hours of cozy sleep lets our brain recharge and grow bigger!
When our bodies are healthy, our minds can do amazing things!
Super Safety Rule
Medicine & Substance Safety
Golden Rule
SAFE: Trusted Adults Only
- Only take medicine given by your parent, guardian, or doctor.
- At school, only take medicine from the School Nurse.
- Medicine is only for the sick person whose name is on the bottle.
NEVER: Stop & Ask First!
- Never touch or taste pills or candy found on the ground or floor.
- Never take pills, drinks, or treats from a stranger or friend.
- If you are not 100% sure what it is, tell an adult right away!
"Some medicines look like candy, but they are NOT! Always Ask a Grown-Up!"
Classroom Challenge
Game: Red Light or Green Light?
Test Your Knowledge

Is this safe or unsafe?
GREEN LIGHT!
