Kindergarten Physical Education Movement Station Cards • Educational Gymnastics Card Set 2 of 2
Stork Stand:
3 Heart Pulse Check (1 Min)
Hand over heart: "Can you feel your heart pumping? When we jump, our muscles work hard and need lots of oxygen!"
Formation & Direction: Students stand on spot markers. Teacher demonstrates using SPARK Skill Cards: "Jump Turns are fun! The trick is in the landing—can you keep your balance?"
Quarter Turn (1/4)
Jump up, turn 90° in the air to face the gym wall. Land softly with bent knees!
Star Jump
Explode into the air! Spread arms & legs like a giant star, pull back in to land.
Jack-in-the-Box
Squat deep into the box. Spring straight up high, then land back down in a quiet squat!
Pogo Stick
Hands out front holding imaginary handlebars. Quick springy bounces on balls of feet!
PHASE 3
Main Game: "Jumping & Landing Fluff Ball Tag"
0:11 – 0:24 (13 Minutes)
Game Concept: 4–5 students are selected as Chasers and hold soft fleece fluff balls. Remaining students are Fleers moving in open space. Chasers gently tag Fleers between the waist and shoulders with their fluff ball.
Round 1: Walk / Trot Tag (4 Min)
Fleers jog or trot safely avoiding chasers. When tagged: Hop on two feet to any sideline and perform 3 Jack in the Box jumps, then re-enter the game!
Round 2: Animal Gallop Tag (5 Min)
Switch chasers! Everyone moves with horse gallops or pony skips. Tagged fleers must travel to the sideline and perform 3 Quarter Turns before jumping back into the action.
Round 3: Star & Pogo Tag (4 Min)
Final fast round! Tagged students perform 3 Star Jumps or Pogo Bounces. Focus on "ninja landings"—quiet feet with bent shock-absorbing knees!
PHASE 4
Cool-Down & Kindergarten Debrief: Force & Impact
0:24 – 0:30 (6 Minutes)
Flower & Candle Breathing (2 Min)
Sit cross-legged in debrief circle. Hold an imaginary flower in one hand and a candle in the other. Smell the flower deep through your nose, then blow out the candle through your mouth! Repeat 3–4 times.
SPARK Reflection Questions (4 Min)
1. What is Force?"Force is the push our leg muscles make to launch us into the air!"
2. How to Lessen Impact?"Bend our knees like shock absorbers! What happens if you land with stiff knees? (Ouch! It sounds loud and shakes our bones)."
3. Arm Wings:"How do our airplane arms keep us from tipping over when we land?"

Heart Check: Hands on chest to feel heart rate slow down.
Kindergarten Connection Questions (4 Min)
1. Hopscotch Footwork:"On the hopscotch mats, what did our feet do on single squares vs double squares?"
Expected: 1 foot on single squares; 2 feet straddle land together on double squares!
2. Stones vs Creeks:"How did tucking our knees help us leap OVER the 8 balance stones compared to deer leaps?"
Expected: Tucking knees gives height to clear hurdles; deer leaps give forward distance!
3. Motorcycle Shock Absorbers:"Why do we bend our knees like motorcycle shock absorbers off the island mats?"
Expected: To absorb the force and protect our joints and bones!
Universal Design: Accommodations for Limited Mobility

Section B
Active Circuit Management & Assessment
Balance Ladder Basics • Page 2 of 2
Phase 3: Active Station Rotations (16 Minutes Total)
4 Stations × 3.5 Min Each + 30s Transition
Station 1: Rails & Jumps
Focus on narrow balance on side rails. Emphasize two-footed soft landings inside rungs and quick spring-outs.
Station 2: Rungs & Animals
Accurate single-foot placements on rungs. In bear and crab walk, emphasize 4-point distributed weight transfer.
Station 3: Bounce & Toss
Coordinate upper-body ball control with lower-body rung steps. Keep bounce rhythm steady: step, bounce, catch.
Stand tall, feet grounded like tree roots. Inhale deeply through nose raising arms overhead like branches; exhale through mouth lowering arms slowly back to sides.
Debrief Discussion Prompts (3 min):
• "When you walked backward, what helped your body stay balanced?" (Airplane arms, slow small steps).
• "How did bending your knees change how loud your jumps were?" (Bent knees absorb shock like springs).
