  • Shoot a free throw.
  • Make it before the person behind you.
  • If they make it first, you are out.
  • Who Wins

Be the last player left in line!

    Play Together

Line up at the free throw line. The first two people have balls. Go in order. Pass the ball to the next person in line when you make it.

    Variation

Life Line: Get back in if your knocker is out.

    Card 5

    Sharks

    Player's Job

    • Wait for "Fishy Fishy, Cross My Sea!"
    • Run to the other side safely.
    • If tagged, you become a Shark.

    Who Wins

    Be the last Minnow standing!

    Play Together

One or two Sharks start in the middle. Everyone else starts at the back wall. Tag gently on the shoulder.

    Variation

Seaweed: Tagged players wave arms but don't move feet!

    Card 6

    Jump River

    Player's Job

    • Jump over the chalk lines.
    • Land on both feet to stay in.
    • Don't touch the lines!

    Who Wins

Jump the widest gap to win!

    Play Together

Line up in a single row. Go one at a time. The Leader moves the line further apart after everyone has had a turn.

    Variation

Backwards: Try jumping with your back to the river!

    Card 7

    H-O-R-S-E

    Player's Job

    • Copy the leader's trick shot.
    • Make the shot to stay safe.
    • Miss? You get a letter.

    Who Wins

Be the last player without all 5 letters!

    Play Together

Line up at the hoop. The first person picks a spot to shoot. If they make it, everyone else must shoot from that same spot.

    Variation

PONY: Spell a shorter word for a faster game.

    Card 8

    The Player Pledge

"I will play fair and be honest."

"I will listen to the game leader."

"I will use gentle tags and keep my friends safe."

"I will say 'YES' when others ask to join."

    Card 9

If you tag Mr. Fox before "Lunchtime," you win and become the Fox. If the Fox tags you during "Lunchtime," you are out for that round.

    Play Together

The group should stay in a straight line as they move. Use light tags only. If you get out, cheer for your friends from the sidelines until the next game.

    Card 4

    Knockout

    Start Here

Everyone stands in one single file line at the free-throw line. The first two people in line each hold a basketball.

    How to Play

Player 1 shoots. Then Player 2 shoots. If Player 2 makes it before Player 1, Player 1 is out! When you make your shot, pass the ball to the next person in line.

    Who Wins

Players keep shooting until only one person is left. That last person is the winner of the game!

    Play Together

Wait your turn in line without pushing. If you get knocked out, high-five the person who made the shot and wait for the next game to start.

    Card 5

    Sharks

    Start Here

One person is the Shark in the middle. Everyone else is a Minnow. Minnows stand on one side line together.

    How to Play

The Shark shouts "Fishy Fishy, Cross My Sea!" Everyone runs to the other side. If the Shark tags you, you stay in the middle and help them tag others.

    Who Wins

The last Minnow that hasn't been tagged wins! That person gets to be the first Shark for the next game.

    Play Together

Watch where you are running so you don't bump into friends. Tag gently on the shoulder. If you are tagged, join the Sharks with a good attitude.

    Card 6

    Jump River

    Start Here

Use chalk to draw two lines on the ground (the "River") close together. Everyone stands in a single file line behind the river.

    How to Play

One by one, players jump over the river. If you land without touching the chalk lines, you stay in. If you touch a line, you are out for that round.

    Who Wins

After everyone jumps, the Leader moves the lines further apart. The last person who can still clear the widest river wins!

    Play Together

Give the person jumping plenty of space. When your friends clear a big gap, clap for them! Wait patiently for the Leader to move the lines.

    Card 7

    H-O-R-S-E

    Start Here

Everyone stands in a line at the basketball hoop. The first person in the line starts as the Leader.

    How to Play

The Leader picks a shot. If they make it, the next person must copy that same shot. If the next person misses, they get a letter (starting with 'H').

    Who Wins

The last person in the game who hasn't spelled the whole word H-O-R-S-E wins the game!

    Play Together

Stay quiet while a friend is shooting so they can focus. If someone gets a letter, tell them "Nice shot anyway!" to keep it positive.

    Card 8

    The Player Pledge

"I will play fair and be honest."

"I will listen to the game leader."

"I will use gentle tags and keep my friends safe."

"I will say 'YES' when others ask to join."
