40-Minute Class Pacing Breakdown
Zero Stand-Still Policy
Time Segment Action & Low-Attention Tactics 00:00 - 07:00 Pulse Warm-Up Traffic Light Sprint: Green = sprint, Yellow = high knees, Red = balance freeze, Purple = 3 star-jumps. Rapid verbal cues every 8 seconds.07:00 - 13:00 Skill 1: Cone Slalom Partner agility zig-zags. Low center of gravity, planting outer foot, explosive push-off. Pairs race the clock (15-sec bursts), not each other. 13:00 - 18:00 Skill 2: Shadow Cuts Leader and Follower drill within grid boxes. Leader makes 3 sharp cuts; follower attempts to match hip alignment. Switch roles every 45 seconds. 18:00 - 37:00 Main Arena Game Meteor Tag (Full-Class Game): 4 fast-paced 4-minute rounds with 30-sec breathers & mini-rule twists. Zero elimination with rapid revival mechanics.37:00 - 40:00 Cooldown & Debrief Walking deep-breath circle. Quick question check: "What body part helps you turn corners without slipping?" (Low hips and ball of foot).
Second-Half Game Blueprint: Meteor Tag (19 Minutes)
High Intensity • No Sitting Out
Objective & Roles
Runners dodge tagged foam balls ("meteors") held or rolled by 3-4 Alien Taggers. Runners score 1 team point for every 30 seconds they remain active on the court without being tagged.
Zero-Elimination Respawn Rule
When tagged, players do NOT sit down! They sprint to the "Recharge Base" (end-line), do 5 quick speed-skater hops , and immediately shout "Recharged!" to re-enter play.
4-Minute Micro-Round Modifiers
Round 1 (Launch): Standard rules; 3 taggers carry foam balls and tag below shoulders.
Round 2 (Meteor Storm): 2 additional taggers added; safe corners can only be held for 3 seconds.
Round 3 (Gravity Shift): Whistle blast means all runners must change direction instantly.
Round 4 (Boss Raid): Taggers can roll balls along the floor to tag runner shoelaces.
Low Attention Span Lifehacks
• Give restless students active roles (e.g., ball retriever, boundary patrol).
• Keep instructions under 45 seconds using "Show, Don't Tell" demonstrations.
• Use countdown timers projected or yelled: "Game live in 3, 2, 1, GO!"
Safety & Differentiation
• Safety: No sliding on knees; tag touches must be gentle two-finger taps.
• Support: Provide larger safe zones for students needing pacing breaks.
• Challenge: Advanced runners must run backwards when crossing center line.
