Routine 01
THE THREE WHISTLE SIGNALS
Instant recognition prevents collisions and keeps the gym secure.
1
ONE BLAST
FREEZE & EYES UP
Stop all movement instantly. Keep feet anchored and look directly at the instructor.
Action: Silent within 2 seconds
2
TWO BLASTS
BALL DOWN & SIT
Trap equipment between your feet or rest it on the floor. Take a knee or sit in ready stance.
Action: Hands off all gear
3
THREE BLASTS
EMERGENCY HUDDLE
Immediate safety drill. Jog safely to the center court circle and gather around the coach.
Action: Clear court perimeter
PRO ATHLETE TIP: Never bounce or toss equipment once the whistle has sounded.

Spatial Awareness
Routine 02
THE ATHLETE PERSONAL BUBBLE
Maintain an arm-and-a-half distance in every drill and game.
Check 1
Helicopter Arm Test
Extend both arms straight outward and turn 360 degrees. If fingertips touch a classmate or wall, take two steps back.
Safe Distance: Minimum 3 to 5 feet
Check 2
Court Perimeter Buffer
Always decelerate before the boundary line. Bleachers, doors, and gym walls are safety danger zones—never sprint directly into them.
Buffer Rule: Decelerate at the yellow line
Athletes who control their brakes protect their teammates. Fast feet need sharp stopping power!
Gear Management
Routine 03
THE EQUIPMENT DEPOT RULES
How we treat our gear reflects our respect for the program.
Two Hands Always
Carry balls, cones, and rackets with two secure hands. Never kick or throw equipment to the storage rack.
Match The Bin
Each item belongs in its labeled bin: basketballs, dodgeballs, and jump ropes stay separated for fast access.
Leave It Better
If you see stray gear on the court, pick it up even if it was not yours. Champions clean up together.
Depot Routine: Walk in Single File • Select Assigned Color • Return on Whistle Golden Rule
Voice of a Leader
Routine 04
ATHLETE TALK VS. BENCH TALK
Words shape team chemistry. Replace blame with encouragement.
Replace Bench Talk
× “Why did you drop that?”
× “You never pass the ball to me!”
× “This referee is totally unfair.”
Use Athlete Talk
✓ “Shake it off, next play! I got you!”
✓ “I am open on the right wing!”
✓ “Good try, let us hustle on defense!”
Champion Standard: Every mistake is followed by an immediate fist-bump.

Academy Call
THE CHAMPION ATHLETE OATH
“I play with heart, I move with safety, I honor the game, and I lift up my team!”

The 3 Universal Non-Verbal Signals
1. The Recovery Fist-Bump
Offer an immediate gentle fist-bump after any mistake to clear frustration in under 3 seconds.
2. Both Hands Ready
Chest-high ready hands show your passer you are focused, alert, and eager to receive the ball.
3. The Floor Assist
When a peer falls, the nearest two players immediately extend hands to help them back to their feet.
Rule of Inclusion: In every team game, every player must touch the ball before a shot or goal can be scored. Team Rule
Cooperative Team Drills & Peer Observation
Practice teamwork mechanics and record real-time peer encouragement
Activity & Log
Squad Teamwork Drills
A
The Silent Communication Relay
Teams must pass a ball through all 5 teammates in a zigzag pattern without speaking a word, relying purely on eye contact, pointing, and ready hand targets. Builds non-verbal focus and mutual trust.
B
The Pass-and-Praise Circuit
Before executing a bounce pass or chest pass to a teammate, the passer must call out the receiver's name and one genuine athletic compliment (e.g., “Great hustle, Jordan!”). Promotes vocal confidence and active connection.
C
All-In Squad Recovery
Whenever a turnover or missed shot occurs in small-sided play, the entire squad must rush to touch the center line and shout their squad cheer before retreating to defense together. Eliminates individual finger-pointing.

Part 1: Rewrite the Sideline Talk
Champions never blame. Transform each unhelpful comment into supportive Athlete Language.
Negative: “Why did you drop that easy catch? We lost the point!” Mistake Recovery
Negative: “Stop passing to Sam, they don't know how to play yet.” Inclusion
Negative: “Our team got the worst players today. This is over.” Team Mindset
Part 2: The Inclusion Challenge
The Situation: During a capture-the-flag game, two experienced players on your team take all the offensive runs while two other teammates stand back in the corner and look disengaged. As a team leader, what specific action or verbal strategy will you use to get everyone involved in the play?
Part 3: Teammate Self-Rating (1 = Developing • 5 = Master Athlete)
1. I praise teammates after mistakes:
1 2 3 4 5
2. I share the ball with all squad members:
1 2 3 4 5
3. I celebrate others when they score:
1 2 3 4 5
4. I maintain calm and positive body posture:

The 4-Step Fair Play Code
True champions are known for how they compete when no one is watching and how they treat opponents at the final whistle.
01
Honor the Call
If the ball grazed your fingers or crossed the sideline boundary, call it honestly yourself. Integrity comes before an easy point.
Athlete Motto: “My word is my bond.”
02
The 3-Count RPS Rule
Disputed out-of-bounds or foul? Stop arguing immediately. Play one rapid game of Rock-Paper-Scissors. The winner takes possession—zero debate.
Limit: Resolve dispute in under 5 seconds.
03
Respect the Whistle
Referees and coaches are human. Never roll your eyes, slam the ball, or challenge an official's ruling. Turn your focus to the next defensive stop.
Standard: Immediate compliance, head held high.
04
Post-Game Handshake
Win or lose, immediately form a single-file handshake line. Make direct eye contact with every opponent and say “Good game!” with sincerity.
Code: Win with humility • Lose with dignity.
Sportsmanship Creed
“Without worthy opponents, there is no game. Honor them as your partners in growth.”

Team / Period:
Directions: Read each real-game scenario carefully. Circle the letter corresponding to the decision that demonstrates true Champion Sportsmanship.
1. During a volleyball game, a spiked ball lands right on the sideline. You are the only person who clearly saw it land just out-of-bounds, but your team was awarded the point. What should you do?
A) Stay quiet because the official made the call and it helps your team win.
B) Tell your referee and opponents honestly that the ball was out.
C) Tell only your teammates quietly after the match is finished.
D) Argue that both teams should replay the previous 3 points.
2. In a heated basketball drill, two players disagree on whether a player was fouled during a layup. The game clock is running. What is the fastest and fairest resolution?
A) Yell louder than the other player until they agree with your call.
B) Stop play and ask all spectator classmates to vote on who was right.
C) Execute a 3-count Rock-Paper-Scissors throw and play on immediately.
D) Refuse to play defense on the next possession to protest the play.
3. Your team has just won the championship game by one point in overtime. How does a Champion Athlete celebrate?
A) Celebrate with teammates, then line up to give respectful high-fives to opponents.
B) Point at the opposing bench and chant that your team is unstoppable.
C) Avoid shaking hands so you can sprint directly to the water fountain.
D) Tell the opponents that they only lost because their referee was bad.
4. You missed the game-tying shot as the final whistle blew. Which reaction shows emotional resilience?
A) Kick the ball against the gym wall and throw your pinnie on the floor.
B) Take a deep breath, shake opponents' hands, and focus on practicing that shot tomorrow.
C) Blame the teammate who passed you the ball for passing it too late.
D) Tell everyone you did not care about the game anyway.
Page 1 of 2 • Turn over for Part 2 and 3
Part 2: Applied Conflict Scenarios
Explain your exact words and leadership actions for each situation.
Written Response
Scenario A: In a dodgeball elimination drill, a thrown ball glances off the edge of your shoe. The thrower yells “You're out!” but none of the referees or classmates saw it. What exact words do you say, and what action do you take?
Scenario B: A frustrated teammate on your bench begins taunting an opposing player who made an accidental double-dribble. How do you intervene as a positive team leader?
