Magic Yogi Statues Game & Mindful Exit Protocol

Zero-Elimination Inclusive Format

3 Magic Yogi Statues Musical Freeze Game (10 Minutes)

4 Dynamic Rounds • ~2.5 Min Each

1

Center Start

Students begin standing tall on their center mats in Mountain Pose with eyes on teacher.

2

Skyway Travel

Music plays! Students step to outer court lines, moving in one direction with the assigned motion.

3

Music Pause & Cue

Music stops & chime sounds! Teacher displays a Pose Flashcard: "Freeze into TREE!"

4

5-Second Hold

All students freeze as motionless statues. Count 5 slow breaths together. Zero outs!

Assigned Locomotor Movements & Target Statues by Round: Follow court perimeter arrows counter-clockwise

Round 1: Cloud Floating Soft gliding steps, arms fluttering like clouds.
Statue: Tree Pose

Round 2: Puppy Tiptoes Silent balls of feet, ninja-soft walking.
Statue: Dog Pose

Round 3: Brave Marching High knees, straight spine, determined steps.
Statue: Warrior Pose

Round 4: Gentle Skips Light step-hops with playful smiling rhythm.
Statue: Cat / Cow Combo

4 Exit, Mindful Belly Breath & Line Up (5 Minutes)

Return to Center Mats

1. Return to Cloud Mat:

"Statues, melt into clouds and float softly back to your mat!" Students lie flat on back in Savasana ("Cloud Rest").

2. Tummy Balloon Breath:

"Hands on tummy. Inhale through nose—feel your balloon rise to the clouds... Exhale mouth, let balloon float down." (Repeat 3x)

3. Peaceful Door Line-Up:

Call students by mat row. Walk like "mindful yogis" with silent footsteps to join the single-file line at the gym door.

Court Navigation & Safety Strategies

One-Way Flow Enforce counter-clockwise perimeter travel. Having all students move in the exact same circular direction prevents head-on collisions when music stops suddenly.

Magic Reset Tap (No Outs) Never eliminate wobbly students! If a child loses balance, give them an imaginary "fairy dust tap" or 1 reset breath to rejoin the statue garden instantly.

Visual Flashcard Anchor Young children (ages 3–5) process visual cues 5x faster than verbal calls in a loud gym. Always hold the high-contrast pose card up high while calling the pose.

Court Navigation & Safety Strategies

Cone Anchors Tall cones provide 3–5 year olds with clear visual targets across the court. Remind students: "Circle around the cone, keep hands off!"

No Running Across Mats The center mat rectangle is designated as an "island sanctuary." Students travel along the court perimeter and never trample across middle mats.

Zero-Elimination Leaders Never eliminate a corner! When a corner cone is drawn, those students proudly lead their pose and the entire gymnasium joins in celebration.
