Teacher Prep
Set up five distinct stations around the gym floor. Place one "Station Card" at each station next to a cone. Ensure mats are properly placed with no gaps for safety during rolls.
Safety Notes
- • Always tuck chin during rolls.
- • One student on the mat at a time.
- • Wait for signal before rotating.
Instructional Flow
Introduction & Warm-Up

- Gather students and explain the objective: practicing skills through a circuit.
- Discuss the importance of warming up to avoid muscle strain.
- Lead a dynamic warm-up: jogging, jumping jacks, and full-body stretching.
Explain Stations
5 MIN
- Walk through the gym and demonstrate each station (rolls, cartwheels, balancing).
- Focus: Emphasize proper form and safety (e.g., tucking heads).
- Divide students into 5 groups and assign starting positions.
Tumbling Circuit
15 MIN
- Groups rotate every 2-3 minutes at the sound of the whistle.
- Active Monitoring: Move between stations to provide feedback and spot students.
- Ensure students are maintaining high energy and safe practices.
Cool Down & Reflection
5 MIN
- Gentle cool-down routine (deep breathing and static stretching).
- Distribute Reflection Worksheets.
- Quick group discussion: "Which station felt the most controlled?"
Station Cards
Station 1
Forward Rolls
Perform forward rolls from one end of the mat to the other.
Keep your chin tucked to your chest!
Station 2
Backward Rolls
Practice backward rolls. Tuck your head and use your arms for support!
Push with your hands to help you roll.
Station 3
Cartwheels
Try cartwheels across the mat. Focus on where you place your hands and feet.
Reach long and kick high!
Station 4
Balancing
Stand on one leg. Try different balancing poses for 30 seconds each.
Find a spot to look at to help balance.
Station 5
Stretching
Perform various stretching exercises to improve your flexibility.
Stretch gently — never push to pain!
