Performance Levers Teacher Guide Strength, Health & Wellness Optimization
PERFORMANCE LEVERS TEACHER GUIDE
Day 1 Classroom
EST. TIME: 50 MINS
Philosophy
Shift students from "just lifting" to understanding how daily habits (sleep, fuel, recovery) unlock their absolute maximum potential.
Materials
Performance Levers Slides, Student Worksheet, writing utensil, whiteboard/markers.
Culture Key
Establish zero-judgment, mutual respect, and focused effort. Shift focus from ego to overall well-being and growth.

The "Potential" Hook & Course Framing (10 Minutes)
Welcome the class in a classroom environment. Address the Week 1 classroom setup. Frame this course not as a standard gym class, but as an elite performance laboratory where strength training is the physical anchor for mastering five key levers of life.
Teacher Script Highlight:
"Welcome to weight training. Here's a heavy truth: most people spend their entire lives operating way below their true potential. They walk around tired, stressed, and disconnected from what their bodies can actually do. This course is about changing that. Strength training is our vehicle, but this week, we are building your Performance Levers. We're going to examine five health levers: movement, sleep, nutrition, recovery, and connection. Together, we'll design daily habits to help you not just survive, but absolutely thrive."
2
Icebreaker: "Lifting Partners" (15 Minutes)
Accountability and connection are major performance levers. This icebreaker breaks social barriers and pushes students to think deeply about their current operational baseline.
Setup & Action
Have students stand up and find a partner from across the room whom they don't regularly sit with. Provide 2 quick-fire discussion prompts (2 mins per round, then rotate).
Partner Prompts
Round 1: "Where in your daily life—energy, sleep, focus, or stress—do you feel you are operating below your true potential?"
Round 2: "Which of the 5 key health levers do you think has the biggest impact on how you feel?"

Worksheet Guide (20 Minutes)
Distribute the Performance Levers Worksheet . This sheet focuses on evaluating and mapping out baseline habits across the 5 high-performance levers. Guide them step-by-step:
3.1
Part 1: The Health Levers Diagnosis
Explain the 5 health levers (Movement, Sleep, Nutrition, Recovery, Connection). Ask students to identify which lever they are currently smashing and which lever is their biggest leak—where energy or potential is draining away.
3.2
Part 2: The Double Blueprint (Physical & Habitual)
Direct students to draft 1 physical growth goal (what they want to physically achieve in Week 2 and beyond) and 1 daily habit goal (e.g., getting 8 hours of sleep, drinking half their body weight in ounces of water, journaling post-workout).
3.3
Part 3: The Accountability Pledge
Have students read and sign the "Power Pledge" and have their partner sign as witness. This seeds the principle that connection and high expectations build elite performers.
4
Closing & Classroom Week Outlook (5 Minutes)
Re-engage the room. Focus their energy on the critical importance of classroom prep week. They aren't just learning how to lift; they are designing a sustainable high-performance life.
Seed the Mindset: "By completing this blueprint today, you've taken the first step to stop operating below your potential. For the rest of this week, we'll dive deep into movement mechanics, nutrition timing, and sleep science right here in the classroom. This is where the mastery begins. When we touch those barbells next week, we will do it with absolute precision. Bring your best energy tomorrow."
Pro-Tips for Managing Class Dynamics
Habit Skepticism: Some students may feel sleep or connection isn't "hardcore" enough for weight training. Counter this by explaining that elite athletes (e.g., LeBron James, Olympians) spend millions of dollars purely on sleep, recovery, and nutrition because that is where strength is actually constructed.
Classroom week: Ensure they understand that classroom preparation isn't a "delay"—it is active training for the mind.

Most people spend their lives operating below their potential. This course is designed to help you analyze how your daily habits influence your energy, strength, recovery, and overall performance. Before we enter the weight room next week, let's explore the five health levers that dictate whether you survive or truly thrive.
Part 1: The Five Levers of Potential
Movement Lifting & Form
Sleep Nightly Rest
Nutrition Fuel & Hydration
Recovery Stretching & Rest
Connection Partnership & Trust
Diagnose your current baseline behavior. Identify your strongest asset and your biggest leak.
Strongest Lever:
Why is it strong?
Biggest Leak:
My Leak's Why
Part 2: The Goal-Habit Blueprint
True strength is built through alignment. Define a physical target and the daily habit that fuels it.
Physical Performance Goal
Focus on lifting technique, raw strength, or movement consistency.
Daily habit to plug my leak
Focus on specific nutrition, sleep hours, or recovery routines.
Part 3: The Accountability Pledge
No high-performing athlete thrives entirely on their own. By connecting with an accountability partner, you gain a spotter who ensures you train safely, stay consistent, and bring your absolute best energy.
"I pledge to bring consistent effort, prioritize safety above ego, encourage my peers, and actively master my daily habits to craft my best self this term."

THE COLD TRUTH
Operating Below Limit
Are you just surviving or actually thriving?
Most people get used to feeling constantly tired, sluggish, weak, or stressed. They think it's normal to operate at 40% of their mental and physical capacity.
Your strength, energy, and cognitive focus aren't fixed. They are completely dictated by daily habit loops.
Signs of Leaking Potential
High fatigue even after sleeping
Sluggish physical recovery and joint pain
Brain fog and low focus under stress
Feeling isolated or unmotivated
To change your performance, you must first locate and plug your energy leaks.
THE FIVE LEVERS
Habits of Performance
01
Movement
Perfect biomechanics, loaded strength training, and posture progression.
02
Sleep
Consistent sleep schedules, deep recovery cycles, and sleep hygiene.
03
Nutrition
High-quality protein, clean hydration, and nutrient timing.
04
Recovery
Myofascial release, mobility, heat/cold, and active restoration.
05
Connection
Collaborative spotting, positive culture, and shared accountability.
To unlock true strength, we must tune all five levers in harmony.
STRENGTH TRAINING: OUR ANCHOR
The Physical Vehicle
Why is strength training the center of this blueprint?
Lifting weights is a highly structured, objective laboratory. You cannot hide or lie to a barbell. It instantly reveals your preparation, focus, nutrition, and rest.
Mastering the barbell teaches you how to master your habits.
Objective Feedback
Weight room progress is binary. You either lift the weight with clean mechanics or you don't. It forces raw honesty.
Safety Demands Connection
Heavy weight training requires spotters and trust. You cannot thrive without connected partners.
We train physical strength to discover what we are truly capable of.
