The Art of Character Mechanics
I. The Objective
Create a final handwritten display piece featuring a favorite Mandarin idiom (成语 - chéngyǔ) or a complex phrase. This piece will demonstrate your mastery of stroke order , structural balance , and visual nuance .
II. Requirements
Minimum of 4 characters.
Must include at least two characters with 10+ strokes.
Accompanied by a "Mechanics Reflection" on the back.
Perfect alignment with Tian Zi Ge proportions.

III. Mastery Rubric
Criterion Mastery (4) Developing (2) Stroke Logic Zero evidence of dragging or incorrect stroke connection; flow is natural. Some strokes are missing hooks or appear "backwards." Structural Balance Characters are perfectly centered; radicals are appropriately compressed. Characters feel lopsided or "fall out" of the square. Visual Nuance Differentiates between similar components (e.g., 礻 vs 衤) perfectly. Confuses similar-looking radicals or components.
