Lesson 01: The Foundation
The Continental Grip
Also known as the "Handshake Grip," this is the most versatile way to hold your racquet. It allows you to hit both forehand and backhand shots without shifting your hand.
Checkpoints:
1
Shake Hands: Place your palm against the strings and slide it down to the handle.
2
The 'V' Shape: The space between thumb and index finger should form a 'V' on the top-left ridge.
3
Trigger Finger: Your index finger should be slightly separated from the others.
The Ready Stance
Athletic Position
Feet shoulder-width, knees bent, weight forward, and racquet held high in front.

Fault Check
Hitting the shuttle above your waist.
Stepping on or over lines during the serve.
Faking or double-motioning the serve.
Choose Your Weapon
High Long Serve
Pushes the opponent to the back of the court. Great for singles play!
Key Technique:
"Big swing, high arc, flick the wrist."
Low Short Serve
Drops just over the net. Forces the opponent to lift. Great for doubles!
Key Technique:
"Short push, keep it skimming the net."
