Athletic growth, team unity, and competitive success rely on shared accountability. All signatories commit to upholding a safe, positive, and respectful soccer culture on and off the field.
Student-Athlete Commitments
Player Code
- Zero Tolerance for Mistreatment: Any taunting, bullying, or verbal aggression toward teammates, opposing teams, or adults will not be tolerated.
- Representation & Sportsmanship: Represent our team, school, and towns with dignity, fair play, and sportsmanship at all times.
- Positive Teammateship: Be a great teammate, promote positive culture, work hard, enjoy competition, and grow your soccer skills.
- Attentive Listening: Give undivided focus; do not distract others while the coach is speaking or giving instructions.
- Zero Distractions: Store all personal distractions (snacks, phones, and smartwatches) in your bag before practice begins.
- Coachability & Positioning: Remain open to coaching and positioning that best benefits the team as determined by coaching staff.
- Earnest Effort: Put forth earnest, full effort in all conditioning, technical drills, skills sessions, and competitive games.
- Practice Attendance: Commit to the team by attending at least one scheduled practice session per week.
- Timely Communication: Proactively communicate any concerns, scheduling conflicts, or time management issues with the Coach in a timely manner.
Coaching Staff Commitments
- Role Model: Represent team, school, and towns through respect and good sportsmanship.
- Safe Environment: Create a safe athletic space where players can make mistakes and learn.
- Team Culture: Promote teamwork and champion a positive, inclusive team environment.
- Timely Dialogue: Communicate concerns with players and parents appropriately and promptly.
- Clear Schedules: Provide clear team expectations, practice schedules, and game times in advance.
Parent & Guardian Commitments
- Positive Cheering: Cheer positively for all players on both teams and serve as sideline role models.
- Referee Respect: Respect all calls and decisions made by referees without protest.
- Productive Support: Help athletes communicate concerns or discuss issues with the Coach productively.
- Punctual Pick-Up: Arrive promptly at designated pick-up times following all practices and matches.
Accountability, Consequences & BAYS Sanctions
Player Accountability: Players failing to meet commitments will participate in coach conversations, followed by coach-parent conferences. Consequences directly affect playing time and roster status on the team.
Official BAYS Sanctions: BAYS Zero Tolerance rules and league sanctions apply to any players, parents, or families who violate expectations, including match suspensions or removal from venues.
