Understand Your Movie
Brainstorm ideas. What is the genre? Who are the characters? What is the central conflict? Establish your vision before opening the software.

Software & Setup
Open Adobe Illustrator . Create a New Document set to 11" x 14" with Portrait orientation.

Design & Create
Begin designing. Ensure you incorporate all 7 required components listed below to ensure full credit.
Required Components Checklist
Movie Title
Catchy and reflective of theme. Choose typography carefully to convey mood.
Tagline
"Every legend has a beginning." A short, intriguing hook.
Imagery
Visual characters or scenes. High-quality and reflecting an "animated" style.
Release Date
Fictional date (e.g., "Coming Soon" or "July 26th"). Clear and visible.
Actors & Actresses
Include at least two fictional names of voice actors.
Billing Block
Condensed text at the bottom. Production credits for directors/producers.
Studio Logo
Pixar, Disney, or an original fictional animation studio logo.

Let's start with a quick warm-up. Take out your journals or a piece of paper, and open up the Movie Poster Warm Up on your screens. You have about 5 minutes to think about your favorite movie posters and answer the questions. What makes them stand out? What catches your eye? Go ahead and get started!"
Allow students 5 minutes to complete the warm-up. Circulate and observe, offering gentle prompts if needed.
Say: "Alright, bring your attention back up here. Who would like to share one movie poster they find particularly effective and why? What elements did you notice that made it memorable? ... Excellent insights! It's clear you've all been paying attention to the power of visual communication. Because today, you are going to become the graphic designers for the newest animated blockbuster!"
