The Hook: The Riff Reality
Play a simple 3-chord blues riff on an acoustic guitar (or play a clip of acoustic blues). Ask students: "Is this music for a dance party or a front porch?" Then, play the exact same riff on an electric guitar with distortion. Ask: "How did your heart rate change?"

The Hook: The Mystery Wave
Use a free online "Tone Generator" or a synth app. Show an oscilloscope visualizer (if possible). Play a pure Sine wave. Ask students what it sounds like (wind? whistle?). Then, abruptly change it to a Sawtooth. Watch their reaction to the "buzz." Explain that electricity is vibrating their eardrums directly.
