Objective
Students identify and demonstrate crescendo (getting louder) and decrescendo (getting softer) by using their voices and bodies to mimic a flower's growth.
Essential Cues
- 1 Crescendo: Seed (ball, whisper) → Bloom (tall, full voice).
- 2 Decrescendo: Bloom → Wilt/Sleep (soft, small).

The Garden Script
"Crouch down into a tiny ball. You are a seed in the cool, dark soil. It's very quiet. Can you make a tiny hum? Like a sleeping bee? (Wait for quiet humming)"
"The sun comes out! We push through the dirt. We are getting a little bigger... and a little louder! Crescendo!"
"We are sprouts! Now stems! Now giant, beautiful sunflowers! Make your voices big and bright! BLOOM!"

The Quiet Seed
Gather on the rug. Practice whispering and "silent" movements. Introduce Piano (soft).

Sprout & Shout
Show Sprout to Bloom Slides. Model physical growth and volume increase. Teach the crescendo symbol.

Use Garden Growth Game Cards. Draw a card; students move and vocalize to match. Mix them up!

Complete the Activity Sheet. Students color plants and draw volume growth symbols.
