Introduction
5 Min
Introduce the concept of cultural symbols. Explain that symbols are "pictures that tell a story" about where people come from, what they believe, and what they value.

- Explain how the mosaic technique (many small pieces) mirrors how many cultures make one community.
02
Group Discussion
10 Min
Divide students into small groups. Distribute the Culture Talk Cards.
- Students share familiar symbols and their meanings.
- Facilitate a short sharing session where each group presents one favorite symbol to the class.
03
Mosaic Art Activity
25 Min
Groups create a collaborative mosaic on poster board.
- Each mosaic must include at least three cultural symbols.
- Students should tear or cut colored paper into small shapes to "fill in" their designs.
- Remind them to share the glue and poster space fairly!
04
Art Gallery Closure
5 Min
Briefly showcase each group's board.
- Groups explain their chosen symbols.
- Reflect: "How does our classroom mosaic look even better when we use so many different colors and symbols?"
