1-Minute Model Response (Public Speaking)
Target: ~115 words (60s)
To begin with, my biggest fear has always been public speaking, which is also known as stage fright. Whenever I have to stand up and speak in front of a class or an audience, I immediately get butterflies in my stomach and my hands start to shake.
The main reason I feel this way is that I am afraid of making silly mistakes and having people laugh at me. In order to overcome this fear, I try to practice step by step. For instance, I practice speaking in front of a mirror, prepare simple notes, and take slow, deep breaths to stay calm before I begin.
In conclusion, I strongly believe it is important for everyone to overcome their fears. When we face our fears, we build our confidence and we can take part in many new activities without hesitation.
