Scripts 2 & 3
Scripts explaining proficiency levels, composites, and home reinforcement.
2
Runtime: ~90 seconds
Cues & Visuals
Framing: Picture-in-picture with sample WIDA report on right half of screen.
Graphics: Highlight box zooms into the Proficiency Level (1.0 - 6.0) column.
Tone: Informative, encouraging, clear.
"Welcome back! When your child's WIDA score report arrives, don't feel overwhelmed by all the charts. Look right for the column labeled Proficiency Level. You will see scores ranging from 1.0 to 6.0."
"Think of this as a 6-step staircase: Levels 1 and 2 mean your child is Entering and Emerging, using gestures and learning essential school words. Levels 3 and 4 mean they are Developing and Expanding, writing full sentences and understanding subject-area lessons. Levels 5 and 6 mean they are Bridging and Reaching, using complex English independently!"
"Also notice the Overall Composite Score. This combines all four domains, placing special weight on reading and writing. When students reach state benchmarks—usually around level 4.5 to 5.0—they transition out of English learner support. Remember: learning an academic language takes 5 to 7 years. Every year of growth is a triumph!"
3
Runtime: ~80 seconds
Cues & Visuals
Framing: Close-up shot with warm, natural lighting. B-roll: Parent and child talking at table.
On-Screen Text: 3 bullets: 1. Talk in your home language; 2. Ask 'Why' & 'How'; 3. Partner with us.
Tone: Reassuring, empowering.
"Caregivers often ask us: 'How can I help my child learn English if English is not my first language?'"
"Here is the incredible truth: Speaking your native language at home is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child's English development! When you discuss stories, explain family traditions, and chat about the news in your home language, your child builds strong concepts and thinking skills that transfer directly into English at school."
"At home, ask curious questions like 'Why do you think that happened?' or 'How would you solve that?' And bring your child's score report to your next teacher conference. Ask us: 'What language goal can we work on together?' We are honored to partner with your family!"

Diapositiva 5
