Lesson Sequence
5 Minutes
Warm-Up
- Ask students: “Where would you like to travel and why?”
- List responses on the whiteboard, introducing key vocabulary like ‘itinerary’, ‘booking’, and ‘reservation’.
- Distribute the Essential Travel Vocabulary Handout.
10 Minutes
Direct Instruction
- Explain the basic trip-planning steps: research, budgeting, booking transport, reserving lodging, creating an itinerary.
- Show a sample one-day itinerary on the screen.
- Highlight and model common phrases for asking dates, times, and prices.

Activity: Collaborative Planning
- Pair students and give each pair a Travel Planning Worksheet.
- Instruct pairs to plan a one-day trip using the worksheet fields.
- Encourage use of vocabulary and phrases from the handout.
- Circulate and support as needed, checking for correct use of travel terminology.

Cool-Down & Review
- Invite pairs to share one highlight of their plan with the group.
- Ask each student to name one new vocabulary word they used.
- Provide feedback and correct any pronunciation or usage errors.

Essential Travel Vocabulary
Itinerary: A planned route or schedule of travel
Booking/Reservation: Arranging and holding transport or lodging

Budget: Amount of money set aside for a trip
