The White Bear Paradox (15 mins)
This experiment (based on Wegner's research) demonstrates Ironic Process Theory . The more we suppress, the more we obsess.
"Tell the students to sit perfectly still. Start a timer. Every time they think of a white bear, they must raise a finger. Usually, within 20 seconds, the whole class has fingers up. This proves that 'Don't Worry' is bad advice. We need a different strategy: Observation."
