Safety starts at home. Understanding wildfires and house fires is a vital part of keeping our loved ones safe. This activity is designed for you to complete together, turning serious safety preparation into an empowering family mission.

By the end of this short session, you will have a Household Fire Safety Plan ready to go, and you'll have practiced exactly what to do in an emergency.

Your Mission Steps

1 The Warm-up: Ask your child: "If we had to leave the house in 5 minutes, what would we do?"
2 Watch & Learn: Watch the "What are Wildfires?" video together. Pay close attention to the 1:21 mark about safety plans.
3 Plan Creation: Use the attached worksheet to document your meeting spot, numbers, and go-bag items.
4 Practice: Walk through your evacuation route together.
