Direct Instruction: Thorndike (15 mins)
Use slides 3-4. Emphasize that Thorndike’s "satisfying" and "unpleasant" are the precursors to Skinner's "reinforcement" and "punishment." Students should complete Section 01 of their notes during this time.

"Remind students that 'Operant' comes from 'Operate'—the subject operates on their environment."

Re-watch the pigeon clip or use a Skinner Box simulation. Guide students through filling out Section 02. Check for Understanding: Ensure they can identify the "Discrim. Stimulus" (the sign saying 'Peck').
