Warm-up: "When do we use it?" (5 min)
Use the Discussion Cards to show images of a candle, a flashlight, and the sun.
Sun: When do we see the sun? (Daytime)Candle: When might we light a candle? (Power outage, birthday party)Flashlight: Where do you take a flashlight? (Camping, dark closets)

The Clap Challenge:
Instruct students to clap once every time they see a light that helps people see in the dark (flashlights, headlights, fireflies). Use the pauses noted in the slides to check for understanding.

Light Role Play (15 min)
Divide students into pairs and hand out one Scenario Card per pair.
The Mission:
Look at the picture on your card (e.g., Reading in Bed).
Go to the "Prop Table" and find the light source you need.
Act out the scene for the class!

Closure (5 min)
Gather on the rug. Ask: "What would happen if we didn't have any artificial light (man-made light) at night?"
Expected answers: We couldn't drive cars, we'd have to sleep when the sun goes down, it would be hard to find our way to the bathroom!
