"Good morning, everyone. Today we are discussing one of the most pivotal moments in human history: the invention of the printing press by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid-1400s. First of all, we need to understand the 'before' state. Prior to Gutenberg, books were hand-copied by monks. This meant they were incredibly expensive and rare. Building on that, because books were rare, literacy was limited to the very wealthy and the clergy. Most people lived their entire lives without ever reading a single page of text."
"Conversely, once Gutenberg's press began operating, everything changed. By using movable metal type, he could produce thousands of pages a day. For instance, the Gutenberg Bible became the first mass-produced book in Europe. This led to a massive drop in the price of books, which consequently made reading accessible to the common person for the first time."

Instructions for Delivery: Read this script with intentional "noise." Use a conversational, slightly disorganized tone. When reading the Signal (bold), speak more clearly and slowly. When reading the Noise (italics), speak faster, perhaps look away from the class, or use filler words like "um" and "uh."
"Um, okay, so... today's main topic is the ethics of Artificial Intelligence. Specifically, I want to argue that we need international laws to regulate AI development.
I mean, I was watching this movie last night—Terminator, you know, the old one? It’s funny how they thought robots would look like that. My cat actually tripped over my laptop while I was watching it, and I thought, 'Man, if my cat were a robot, he'd be much more efficient at waking me up at 5 AM.' Anyway, where was I? Oh, right...
The first reason we need regulation is to protect human privacy. AI can process massive amounts of personal data in seconds.

"Welcome to our final seminar. Today we analyze the psychology of digital habits. First of all, my central thesis is that social media platforms are designed using 'intermittent reinforcement,' a psychological trick that makes it almost impossible for our brains to stop scrolling.
To illustrate this, we have to look at the 'variable reward' system. Think of a slot machine. You don't win every time, but the chance of winning keeps you pulling the lever. Actually, I tried a 'digital detox' last summer. I went to a cabin in the woods for a week with no phone. By day three, I was literally checking my microwave for notifications.
