The character 永 (yǒng), meaning "eternal," is unique because it contains all eight of these building blocks in one single character.

The Eternal Model (永)
In Chinese calligraphy, the character 永 (yǒng) is used to teach the eight basic strokes. Before we can write full characters, we must master these individual building blocks. Practice each stroke below, focusing on direction and pressure.
