In this culminating lesson, students apply their library of strategies (Make Ten, Doubles, Fact Families) to real-world word problems. Students sort problems based on which strategy would be most efficient to solve them, rather than just finding the answer. They engage in a 'Math Congress' to debate why one strategy might be faster than another for specific number combinations.
