Why This Lesson?

This review consolidates vocabulary knowledge, promotes retention through engaging, multisensory strategies, and supports ELL newcomers’ confidence in using key literacy terms for reading and writing.

Objective

Students will review all 12 unit vocabulary words through an interactive bingo game and a short comprehension task, demonstrating mastery by writing reflection sentences.

The Review Voyage

Stage & Time	Teacher Actions & Student Engagement
Greeting & Warm-Up 2 Minutes	Point to each word on the Word Wall. Volunteers pronounce and give a one-word meaning. Re-model any challenging words.
Vocabulary Bingo 7 Minutes	Distribute Bingo Cards and chips. Teacher calls a definition or shows an image. Students mark the matching word. Winner calls "BINGO!" and reads matched words/meanings.
Comprehension Task 4 Minutes	Hand out Short Text Passages to pairs. Read one sentence aloud; underline vocabulary words. Partners discuss meaning and use word in a new oral sentence.
Wrap-Up & Reflection 2 Minutes	Write a quick sentence using 1 reviewed word on a sticky note. Place under the word on the Word Wall.

Teaching Tip: During Bingo, use L1 translation for the definitions if needed, but always keep the target English word as the goal for marking.
