The journey was not easy. Crossing a steep river embankment could take all day. Often, the work was thankless and exhausting. Pioneers had to be brave. Every risker (one who takes risks) who scouted the path knew danger was everywhere. But a beautiful sunset over the mountains was a thriller—an exciting moment that made the work worth it.
Life on the trail required a spunky attitude. Families had to be trustful of their neighbors. They would cook their fresh meat succulently over a small fire. On those blissful nights, they would sing songs and dream of their future homes.
Before they left, they sorted their belongings to avoid carrying junky items. Once they arrived, the establishment of new towns began. With the enactment of new laws, the frontier slowly turned into the states we know today.
