"Welcome back! In our last session, we focused on reframing—shifting perspectives from negative to constructive thoughts. How did your homework go? Did anyone try reframing a thought this week?"

"Let's also do a quick positive check-in. What's one small win or positive observation from your week? It can be anything! Noticing those small positive things is a perfect lead-in to our topic today: gratitude."

The Power of Gratitude (15 Minutes)

"Gratitude is more than just saying 'thank you.' It's about appreciation. It's training your brain to seek out the good, rather than automatically focusing on what's missing. Research shows it can actually reduce stress and increase feelings of happiness—it's like a mental vitamin!"

"Gratitude often comes from the small, everyday blessings. Nature, kind words from people, simple comforts like your favorite song, or even a challenge that helped you grow. What are some small things you might be grateful for right now?"

My Gratitude Journey Journal (20 Minutes)

"To actively cultivate this, we're going to start your journal. This is a personal space for you. There's no pressure to find grand things. Just observe your life and appreciate what's there. I'll hand out the journals now. Take about 15 minutes to reflect."

Teacher Facilitation:

Circulate quietly. Offer gentle encouragement to students who seem stuck. Encourage them to think about their 5 senses for ideas.
