Program Objective

This targeted individual program helps the student practice initiating conversations with 1-2 turn-taking responses while learning to use coping strategies to manage frustration or sadness.

Pre-Session Preparation

• Plan follow-up questions for discussions

Training Roadmap (5 Sessions)

Session 01

Introduction & Goal Setting

Establishing the "why" and basic modeling.

• Model initiating conversations with turn-taking using the Script.
• Introduce basic coping strategies for frustration and sadness.
• Identify social cues using the Discussion Guide.

Session 02

Practicing Turn-Taking

Active drill and game-based learning.

• Conduct role plays using Activity Instructions.
• Play the Turn-Taking Game to practice appropriate responses.
• Provide immediate verbal feedback and reinforcement.

Session 03

Coping Skills Intensive

Focus on emotional regulation tools.

• Introduce deep breathing, grounding, and break techniques.
• Show the Coping Mechanisms Video for practical application.
• Discuss implementation timing using guided questions.

Session 04

Integration of Skills

Merging social interaction with emotional control.

• Role play stressful social situations (e.g., feeling left out).
• Complete the Coping Strategies Worksheet.
• Practice describing feelings in real-time during exercises.
