Grading Rubric (100 Points)

Criteria	Exceptional (25)	Proficient (20)	Developing (15-)
Stance Identification	Correctly identifies stance with 2+ specific linguistic proofs (e.g., "the speaker's use of 'unfortunately'").	Identifies stance but provides vague evidence (e.g., "they sounded angry").	Misidentifies stance or provides no evidence.
Structural Cohesion	Uses 5+ transition signals to mirror the lecture's original logical flow.	Uses basic signals (First, Second, Third) but flow feels choppy.	Summary is a list of disconnected facts without transitions.
Content Hierarchy	Clearly separates thesis from data; excludes all irrelevant digressions.	Captures main points but includes 1-2 minor tangents or fluff.	Focuses on interesting stories instead of the main academic argument.
Synthesis Depth	Connects the final conclusion back to the initial thesis effectively.	Summarizes the end but doesn't connect it to the beginning.	Missing a clear conclusion or logical synthesis of points.

Suggested Mini-Lecture Outline (AI Ethics)

Thesis: While AI diagnostics offer unprecedented speed, the "Black Box" problem poses a critical risk to patient consent and physician accountability.

Point 1: Efficiency vs. Transparency (The "Black Box" phenomenon where even programmers don't know why the AI chose a diagnosis).

Point 2: Data Bias (Case study on algorithmic bias in skin cancer detection for darker skin tones).

Point 3: The Liability Gap (If the AI is wrong, who is sued? The hospital? The coder?).

Conclusion: We need "Explainable AI" before full clinical implementation.
